Find 1k gold to buy my freedom? No problem!, Travel to another country myself to escape? No problem!, Get training from a grumpy guy who pretends I don’t exist? No problem! And her positivity doesn’t mean she has no trauma or it doesn’t affect her, because it does a lot and in so much different ways and I love how the author handles it, it feels real.Īlso, how she struggles with learning the language (the language is phonetically English which I thought was clever, she knows some of it from hearing it and seeing it in books) of the new culture she’s thrusted into is so relatable and cute: “Don’t give me that look,” he said, “as if I owe you the dirty details.” I gave him a cloying smile. She has went through so much but instead of being jaded about it, she is soooo positive. She is 21 yrs of age and was a slave for most of her life and presumably has no family left alive. #1: The MC (Tisaanah) - I know what a name!: She’s a Valtain (yes there are other races :)) which means white skin (like mega pale) and white hair, but she’s only half iirc? so that means she has random patches of gold skin thrown in where there is really pale skin. Dw I won’t be including any major plot spoilers besides what was said in the summary of the book on goodreads, but I will put some quotes that don’t spoil anything but the characters being cute w/ each other. I just finished it last night and I see just one post about it here on this subreddit (excluding me recommending it the other day) and I am disappoint.īut alas! I am here to tell you all why I loved this book and why you should read Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent.
